Cypherpunk
In the year 1993 I was taken to a club in Jeppe street Johannesburg. It was called 4th world and it truely was on another planet.
The vibe and the people who frequented the place were like nothing I had ever seen before, pure joy manifest.
Sadly 4th world is no more and the state of the dance scene in South Africa has gone downhill in my humble opinion.
Clubbing has become more about wearing the coolest labels and taking the most drugs.
The music has become incidental.
Flyers used to say P.L.U.R. now they say R.O.A.R.
Fortunately there are still a few people who remember what the scene once was and its for those few brave souls that Cypherpunk exists.
My hope is to bring the best of local underground DJ’s to the fore and provide a space for their expression.
