Matt already stole Love
So I can’t very well name this post that, but I would have!
Anyhow, this is what happened when I was asked to define love…
…
What is Love?
Ahh… If you had asked me this online at about 3 am, I would likely be able to wax poetic for hours straight on the subject. Unfortunately such is not the case, and I find myself trying to answer this at 7:30 in the evening with not a single person to bounce ideas off of.
So, now… I attempt to start by asking myself, what is love? And of course my treacherous mind rewards me with singing “what is love, oh baby don’t hurt me… don’t hurt me.. no more” swiftly followed by a chorus of “what’s love got to do with it?”
If you don’t hear from me again, its because I offed myself & “whats love got to do with it” had to do with it. Its a good thing I’ve never liked love songs or else I’d truly be suffering.
Nevertheless I will get through this! Perhaps I should just post logs of past discussions on the subject.
Ok, enough hiding behind humour already, but I’m not happy about stepping out Matt….
Love is a misunderstood concept, and I think people tend to think of it in ways it does not actually exist. They fear it and avoid it, like a heavy net or an anchor to be tossed around their neck… but love doesn’t sink, it soars. It laughs and smiles, it awes and warms. The pain and fear are out of the refusal of it, the denial or betrayal of it; in essence the opposite of love, but so closely intertwined that it is often mistaken for the same. I think fear is the more proper counterpoint to love than hate is… in fact hate is essentially the same thing, different flavour, apples & oranges are still both fruit.
Thats as much as I can get down in writing before it all becoming convoluted & confusing.
