Matt already stole Love

So I can’t very well name this post that, but I would have!

Anyhow, this is what happened when I was asked to define love…

What is Love?

Ahh… If you had asked me this online at about 3 am, I would likely be able to wax poetic for hours straight on the subject. Unfortunately such is not the case, and I find myself trying to answer this at 7:30 in the evening with not a single person to bounce ideas off of.
So, now… I attempt to start by asking myself, what is love? And of course my treacherous mind rewards me with singing “what is love, oh baby don’t hurt me… don’t hurt me.. no more” swiftly followed by a chorus of “what’s love got to do with it?”

If you don’t hear from me again, its because I offed myself & “whats love got to do with it” had to do with it. Its a good thing I’ve never liked love songs or else I’d truly be suffering.

Nevertheless I will get through this! Perhaps I should just post logs of past discussions on the subject.

Ok, enough hiding behind humour already, but I’m not happy about stepping out Matt….

Love is a misunderstood concept, and I think people tend to think of it in ways it does not actually exist. They fear it and avoid it, like a heavy net or an anchor to be tossed around their neck… but love doesn’t sink, it soars. It laughs and smiles, it awes and warms. The pain and fear are out of the refusal of it, the denial or betrayal of it; in essence the opposite of love, but so closely intertwined that it is often mistaken for the same. I think fear is the more proper counterpoint to love than hate is… in fact hate is essentially the same thing, different flavour, apples & oranges are still both fruit.

Thats as much as I can get down in writing before it all becoming convoluted & confusing.

I am a Superhero

Last Night i saved my girlfriend from one of these.

I was like a knight clad in the purist shimmering washing up gloves and brandishing Tupperware retrieved from the bosom of the kitchen sink.

Deftly navigating the bedside table and piles of clothing I closed in, then with one swift movement I clamped the tupperware down over the beasty. “TRIUMPH! I yelled! “JESUS CHRIST!” I Yelled louder as the spider escaped my badly placed strike and scuttled away across the wall.

After I recovered I managed again to trap it and this time there was no escape. Quick as a flash I had slid a piece of card under the spider and lifted it off the wall, dashed out the back door and into the garden - past the fence and out to the other end of our complex where I flung the spider into the bushes.

After making one hundred percent sure it was not lurking in the bottom of the tupperware I high tailed it back home where I received a hero’s welcome.

I didn’t sleep well last night -Things kept crawling on me.
*shudder*

Tao Te Ching stanza 15

The ancient Masters
were damn impressive.
They were deep. Real deep.
Words can’t even begin to describe
how deep they were.
You can only talk
about how they acted.

They were careful,
like a man walking on thin ice.
They were cautious,
like a soldier behind enemy lines.
They were polite,
like a guest at a party.
They moved quickly, like melting ice.
They were as plain as a block of wood.
Their minds were as wide as a valley,
and their hearts as clear
as spring water.

Can you wait
for that kind of openness and clarity
before you try to understand the world?

Can you hold still
until events have unfolded
before you do the right thing?

When you act without expectations,
you can accomplish great things.

Bastard

On Sunday I stopped at a gas station Quikshop to get something to drink. There where two guys standing near the counter.  One guy who had walked in just after me and another guy standing by the counter with a kilogram bag of maize meal.

The guy with the maize meal was short of R4. He was asking Guy 1 if he could help. Guy 1 basically told him to piss off which upset me to begin with because he was obviously a lot better off than maize meal guy and R4 is pocket change really.

I offered to buy the maize meal. Guy 1 says something like ” How can you let this rubbish in the store?” to the clerk.

I replied that maize meal guy was obviously hungry and he should just leave him alone. Guy 1 totally ignored me while continuing to bitch about maize meal guy to the clerk.

After I left the store I got some gas and noticed Guy 1 getting into his luxury sedan.

It makes me sad that there are people like this guy in the world.

Bastard.
