Session Fixation

and as such have been looking into security risks associated with PHP.
I found an article written by Chris Shiflett on session fixation and thought it quite informative.
For those of you who don’t know what session fixation is, its basically a way for an attacker to gain access to sensitive information by exploiting the way certain applications handle session information.
It is quite easy to fix and Chris’ article covers the basics beautifully.

Technology and shopping
March 14th, 2008 by MattToday my girlfriend went shopping with me while I was at work.
I know you’ve re read that line and gone “What?”
She went shopping for a new dress - found the one she wanted MMSed me a photo of her in it and asked if I approved.
I did, so I logged into my bank and transfered the money for the dress to her account, because we bank with the same bank the transfer is immidiate.
She bought the dress and moved onto the next store.
Its great I can go shopping without leaving the comfort of my own house.
